Voters in Linn County will decide on 1/4 Sales Tax proposal

Voters in Linn County will be deciding the fate of a 1/4 Sales Tax proposal to help support County Law Enforcement services during the upcoming April 5th Municipal Election.  During the Linn County Commissioners meeting on January 18th the topic of placing the issue before voters was discussed. Presiding Commissioner Dick King indicated he would like to see a 1/3 cent increase while 2nd District Commissioner Josh Muck indicated he would prefer a 1/4 cent tax. Muck then made a motion to place a 1/4 cent Law Enforcement Sales Tax on the ballot. After the motion was seconded, all three commissioners voted in favor of the motion authorizing the 1/4 cent Sales Tax question  to help Support County Law Enforcement Services be presented to Linn County voters as part of the April 5th Municipal Election ballot.
